Tips on Stained Glass Window Photography

One of the picture perfect objects that are great for clicking photos is the stained glass windows. But when things go wrong, it would lead to disastrous results. But there are a few steps, which when followed correctly, would result in a great picture of stained glass windows. The range of gear that one should choose depends on the size of the stained glass windows. For larger windows, wide angle lens would be a perfect fit. For ordinary stained glass windows, telephoto lenses would work very well and also helps the person to get close to the glass window.

In places where the interiors are quite dark, a tripod would come in extremely handy. Churches are usually decorated with picture perfect stained glass windows. But most of the times, interiors of the churches are quite dark and the church authorities might not permit the usage of flash lights. In such a scenario, one has to essentially have a tripod with them in order to get longer exposure for taking clearer pictures of stained glass windows. Similarly, one might not get a ladder to get close to the stained glass windows as it might obstruct the walkways. In such scenarios, one can take a step back and use a longer lens to focus on the windows.
