Capturing Spring Subjects With Pentax Kit

Posted date:  May 2, 2014  |  No comment

Listed below are some Pentax tips to get the best out of your spring photos.

Rivers and Streams – You will need to bring a tripod and use a polarized lens to capture smooth running water. The lens makes the landscape more vibrant against the river water. If you were taking a picture of a waterfall, make sure you capture some of the sky to avoid an ultra dark image, or take two divided shots and piece together after.

Landscapes – To capture all the lush colors, use a wide lens. A 1DA 16-50mm f/2.8 SDM is an ideal product for spring images. The lens size will give you room to crop the images that might be distorted around the edge of the photograph, thus, it gives room to zoom in on a particular animal as well.

Flower – Fresh dew on fresh flowers is easier to capture on a macro lens. Using the Pentax DA 35mm f/2.8 and a tripod are necessary for a steady shot. Since the positioning is quite low, try to get different angles of the flower for more abstract photos. Using manual focus is ideal to ensure how crisp the photo will develop.

Animals – In order to create captures of animals that are quite protective of their young in the spring, a telephoto reach lens like HD Pentax DA 55-300mm will allow you to get close up images of small animals without bothering the mothers. This fast shutter speed will clearly capture the images when they move abruptly.
