When seeking out a destination to photograph, the ocean and coast are compelling subjects. However, they require specific techniques in order to capture fully. The sand can be perfectly smooth or textured. The water maybe still or may feature crashing waves. There maybe cliffs or rocky outcroppings. It may be sunny or cloudy. There are a lot of factors to consider.

First of all, you should look for areas that you can photograph with many reflections. Reflections automatically brighten an image and provide multiple focal points for the viewer.
